Following bsae on XP system.

if you have to manually find a file by name in a folder with a ton of files..(like system32) do something to open an open file dialog box.

in the file textbox, enter a partial string with the * wildcard and hit return, the list will trim down to just what you want to see + folders.

now you can copy/delete/rename the file in the dialog window using keys or right click menu.

why doesnt the explorer window have this option?
