floor fix

So i had to take up some old carpet and found some surprises underneath. The good was it turns out I have wood floors. The bad was there were parts were pretty hammered and damaged.

I took up one section and saved what I could of the wood. It had been taken up before and renailed, plus a layer of luan over it and hidden under carpet. There had also been some walls moved and some total junk transitions left and hidden by carpet.

So time to fix all of that. I cut out the old wall base plate and standardized teh sizes. Then i reclaimed the old removed flooring and glued it up into new boards. Also had to level and fix teh subfloor and even shave a joist to fix a hump. It was a fairly long form project. Right now I am leaving an adhock floor clamp in place for a couple weeks to retrain the floor flat.

Luckily i do this for fun.
